The impact of social media on anxiety and eating disorders is a complex issue with various contributing factors. This systematic review analysis examines the relationship between social media and mental health conditions related to anxiety and eating disorders, highlighting the influence of unrealistic body standards, cyberbullying, addiction, and the amplification of negative emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also attempts to give solutions and identify the causal factors of anxiety and body dysmorphia due to social media use especially in teenagers and young adults.Metrics
