This study examines the linguistic influences on cognitive development in young dual language learners (DLLs), focusing on how bilingualism shapes executive functioning, memory, and brain development. Theoretical perspectives, including the Bilingual Advantage Hypothesis, highlight cognitive benefits such as enhanced flexibility and metalinguistic awareness. Factors like socioeconomic status and parental involvement are explored for their role in DLLs’ cognitive outcomes. The findings emphasize the need for culturally responsive educational practices to support DLLs’ holistic development.Published
