Abstract

This study explores the impact of online anonymity on individuals’ behaviour, particularly focusing on their likelihood to express true opinions and discuss sensitive topics. Utilizing data from 100 participants, the study highlights how anonymity can encourage openness while uncovering variability influenced by personal and societal factors. Descriptive statistics reveal a mean score of 110 and a standard deviation of 9.19, with scores spanning from 87 to 139. Shapiro-Wilk results (W = 0.974, p = 0.043) indicate slight non-normality in data distribution. These findings affirm the hypothesis that online anonymity fosters expression but also underscore the need to account for individual differences.
