The more you become rich, the more you become happier. One’s success is measured by the wealth, material, and services the person enjoys and accumulate over the period of his life. Secondly, “Can money buy happiness?” Yes, at certain level, it is. but it seems ephemeral happiness. As a result, we kept buying materials and stuffs one after the another. This is not something one called eternal happiness and content. This is an ephemeral happiness that keeps changing with time to time. However, in counter to overconsumption nature of lifestyle, Minimalism is a lifestyle of living with less, focusing on “purpose and meaning of living and adding values to the life”. It seeks the freedom from overburden, stress and complexity of the life. The paper aim is to define minimalism as a philosophy of living life by focusing on what is essential (oscillates between need and want). Addition to this, the paper look into how minimalism helps to “center the self” rather focusing on outer world much. And also, it dives into the interconnectedness between minimalism and mindfulness and spirituality. Adopting or practicing “Minimalism”, means new techniques to lead a more balanced life by adding values more consciously. Contributing to others lives give inner happiness of satisfaction and idea of accomplishment. It contributes to the mental well-being of people. Wealth is never be a factor for being minimalist. It is always a mindful choice of choosing right consciously not by influences. This paper is completely theoretical and analytical in approach.
