Abstract

This study investigates the influence of yantras on two internal stages of Ashtanga Yoga: pranayama (breath control) and pratyahara (sensory withdrawal). Utilizing the PRISMA framework for systematic reviews, literature was analysed focusing on the interplay between yantra iconography and these practices. The findings reveal that specific geometric and symbolic elements of yantras facilitate prana harmonization during pranayama and aid sensory withdrawal in pratyahara. This paper highlights the potential for integrating yantras into contemporary therapeutic and meditative practices.
