Abstract

The concept of fantasy is a very dynamic one because more and more people shy away from reality and be in the fantasy world. Fantasy becomes a device for people to seek escape mechanisms from the duress and tension of everyday life. This paper will discuss a number of factors relating to psychological implications and behavior outcomes as a result of living in a fantasy world. Fantasy can come in many varieties, some of which include role-playing, daydreaming, fiction reading and other activities with an extremely immersive nature. Thus, it seeks to explore the fundamental underlying factors that draw individuals towards fantasy rather than reality. It has provided a comprehensive analysis of how fantasy plays a pivotal role in shaping people’s lives, emotions, and behaviors. All emotions experienced within this fantasy world resonate with a scenario of power, career success or personal relationships, echoing a scenario a person might aspire to for themselves in real life. In pursuance of critical analysis both of quantitative and qualitative data, this paper deals with the influence of fantasy on emotional well-being and behavior. The paper digs deeper into the impact of positive fantasies, trying to understand how these could help an individual navigate his life and at least establish a framework for future ambitions and goals. In other words, this search regarding fantasy shall illuminate light as to how it can influence not just feelings but also outlooks.
