Transgender and non-binary individuals’ mental health is negatively impacted by the legal, socio-economic structures that marginalize their existence. This paper aims to give an overview on the adverse effects of the minority stress experienced by the community and the societal and legal barriers that prevent them from accessing the support and care that they need. The paper also advocates for radical systemic changes that can provide better health outcomes and living conditions for the community. Also asks for shift in focus from the negative experiences to the positive and protective factors that can be affirming and can improve the overall well-being of people with gender diverse experiences.Metrics
