The present study investigates the impact of work engagement on employee performance, focusing on the mediating role of work autonomy. Using standardized questionnaire data were collected from 268 employees from various service sectors. The results reveal a significant positive relationship between work engagement and work performance, confirming that employees who are deeply engaged in their work demonstrate better work outcomes. The findings suggest that work autonomy which is found to mediate this relationship not only enhances the direct impact of engagement on performance but also serves as a conduit through which the beneficial effects of engagement are realized. Organizations aiming to bolster employee performance should consider strategies to enhance work engagement and provide employees with greater autonomy in their roles. Such interventions can foster a more proactive, dedicated, and high-performing workforce.Metrics
