Abstract

Intellectual disability is a disability which occurs in the developmental period of life and is characterized by below average intellectual functioning. Most people with intellectual disability are born with the disability. Disorder Characteristics Intellectual disability involves impairments of general mental abilities that impact adaptive functioning in three domains, or areas. The present study evaluated social development level, intellectual developmental level and consequent adjustment in family and society of children with intellectual developmental disability. Forty children with intellectual disability and below the age of 15 years were selected with the help of purposive sampling technique. These intellectual developmental disabled children were administered VSMS and MISIC. Results depicted that significant relationship between social quotient and intelligence quotient in intellectual developmental disable children was reported. Social quotient increases from profound to mild level of intellectual developmental disable children.
