Relationship between Internet Addiction and Self esteem

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Internet addiction and self-esteem among young adults in Bangalore, India. A correlational research design was used, and data was collected from 90 young adults ranging in age from 17 to 25 years. The two variables were assessed using the Young’s Internet Addiction Scale and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. SPSS software was used for descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. The results revealed a weak negative correlation between Internet addiction and self-esteem, implying that those with higher levels of Internet addiction had lower levels of self-esteem.Metrics
