Industrial-Organizational psychology (I/O psychology) is a relatively new branch of psychology that has only begun to emerge in recent years in India. Despite the accelerated growth of businesses, we find that the field of I-O psychology is still in its infancy. There is a need to understand the development of I-O psychology ascertaining the importance of psychological intervention at workplaces. The purpose of this review is to examine the current status of I-O psychology, the seriousness and urgency for psychological intervention at workplaces. Lastly, the possible directions for future developments in I-O psychology will be examined.Metrics
