The socio–economic status appears to play a significant role in determining the positive psychological states such as hope, optimism, resilience, happiness etc. of undergraduates in a society. College life is an important stage in every person’s life. For the proper psychological growth of youth social resources play a pivotal role. With these notions in mind, the current study is an attempt to explore the impact of socio -economic status on the resilience of undergraduates. A sample of 250 undergraduates of both sexes was selected from different colleges of Faridabad, Delhi and Ghaziabad on the basis of purposive sampling. The age range of youth was 18-23 years. In order to compare the undergraduates on resilience scores, One Way ANOVA, followed by t-test were implemented. The study revealed that higher the socio-economic status more the probability of developing of positive state such as resilience, may be due to the abundance of social and economic resources. The present findings endorse some suggestions that there is a need to cultivate and enhance the level of resilience in Indian undergraduates of low SES group.Metrics
