The present study attempts to find out the prevalence of smartphone addiction among college students studying in Mysuru city. A total of 120 students were selected randomly from three undergraduate colleges, their age varied from 18 to 22 years. They were administered smartphone addiction scale (Kwon, Kim & Yang, 2013) and nomophobia questionnaire (Yildirim & Correia, 2015). The data were analyzed using chi-square test and two-way ANOVA. Results revealed that an alarming 45.8% of the sample selected was addicted to smartphones. Male and female students had similar levels of smart phone addiction. Gender and age did not influence nomophobia among student smartphone users. Strategies to reduce smartphone addiction have been delineated.Metrics
