This paper attempts to understand the differences in the parent-child relationship, risk-taking behavior, and perception in Indian sexual minority and heterosexual youth as well the relationship between parenting style, parent-child relationship, risk-taking behavior, and perception. A total sample of 152 participants having two parents were drawn from India. Out of the total sample, 77 participants identified themselves as Heterosexual, and 75 participants identified as LGBTQIA+. The results of the study suggested significant differences in the parent-child relationship, risk-taking behavior, and risk-taking perception between the LGBTQI+ youth and heterosexual youth. A positive correlation was found between authoritative/flexible parenting style and parent-child relationship whereas a negative correlation was found between authoritarian parenting style and the parent-child relationship. Permissive parenting was found to be positively correlated with risk-taking behavior.
