Abstract

The COVID-19 safety measures imposed created psychological distress in all populations. It was the adolescents showed more signs of distress compared to any other age. This study focuses on the relation of self-efficacy and its predictive role on adolescents’ psychological distress during the pandemic. Six hundred (600) students from 10th and 12th grades of Kochi city participated in the study. Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) and General Self-efficacy Scale (GSES) used to measure variables, and the correlation research design was applied in the study. The findings revealed a negative correlation between self-efficacy and psychological distress, and regression analysis identified the predictive role of self-efficacy on adolescents’ psychological distress.
